(SPORTS) -Euro 2012 ready for kick-off today



After weeks of anticipation, speculation and debate, Euro 2012 finally gets under way on today Friday 08/06/2012 when co-hosts Poland take on Greece in Warsaw. 

The tournament sees 16 of Europe's best footballing countries compete for the Henri Delaunay Trophy, with the final taking place in Kiev on 1 July.

  My team (England) begin their journey into the tournament against France on 11 June - while Republic of Ireland are also in action.

Football fans will see 31 games over the next three weeks, as Spain look to defend the title they won in Vienna four years ago.

Emaciated US Man Lost In The Desert For Weeks

An autistic man who went missing in the desert for three weeks has been found alive after living mainly off frogs and roots. William LaFever was severely emaciated when he was discovered wandering in the remote Escalante Desert in southern Utah. The 28-year-old, from Colorado Springs, told rescuers that in addition to the bits of food he scavenged, he drank water from the Escalante River while attempting to walk a distance of around 90 miles.
